The White Hag is a modern, independent brewery proudly located in Sligo, along Ireland’s iconic Wild Atlantic Way. Our passion lies in brewing innovative and groundbreaking beers, drawing inspiration from ancient traditions and timeless classic styles.
At The White Hag, we blend heritage with creativity to deliver unique and classic beer styles that honour the past while embracing the future of independent brewing.
Our mission is to craft beers that are both interesting and innovative, with a respectful nod to the ancient and classic styles that have defined our region for generations. While our award-winning stout range and stellar IPAs form the cornerstone of our core lineup, it is our emerging sour program that sets us apart. The Púca Sour Range, known for its tart, effervescent mixed fermentation flavours, has captured the imagination of adventurous beer enthusiasts. This range is complemented by the Heather Sour, Apple Sour, and a variety of special and collaborative sours crafted along the way.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We’ve teamed up with breweries from across the globe, creating groundbreaking beers that showcase the power of shared creativity and passion in the craft brewing community.
While Ireland is our most important market, with beer available in all great bars and off licences, and many of the leading supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide, we have also spread our wings abroad over the past 10 years.

We came together in late 2013 with the ambition of building an innovative and ambitious brewery here in Sligo. We’ve got an eclectic team, with several skillsets and backgrounds from across 2 continents combining to create The White Hag, Sligo’s first brewery in over 100 years.
We proudly host a one-of-a-kind, crowdfunded barrel-aging program, where over 40,000 litres of expertly crafted beer matures in premium oak barrels.
This exclusive initiative allows beer enthusiasts to experience the rich, complex flavours that only time and tradition can create.
