Heidrun – The Goat of Valhalla

Perched atop Valhalla, the grand hall of Odin, stood Heidrun, the mythical goat of Norse legend. But this was no ordinary creature - Heidrun feasted on the leaves of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, and from her udders flowed not milk, but endless streams of mead, the sacred drink of the gods and warriors who had earned their place in Odin’s mighty hall.

For the Vikings, Heidrun was more than a goat - she was a giver of divine sustenance, fueling the bravest warriors as they prepared for Ragnarok, the final battle of gods and men.

The Birth of Bock Beer – From Einbeck to Bavaria

Centuries later, in the brewing heart of Einbeck, Northern Germany, a bold, malty beer was born. Rich, smooth, and brewed strong enough to withstand the test of time, it became a staple of the Hanseatic League, filling the steins of merchants and travelers across Europe. But when Munich brewers recreated the style in the 17th century, something interesting happened—the name ‘Einbeck’ evolved into ‘Ein-Bock,’ which in Bavarian dialect sounded like ‘Billy Goat’.

And so, the goat became the symbol of Bock beer—a tribute to its strength, resilience, and legendary status.

Raise a Glass to Heidrun & the Power of the Bock

Like the mythical goat of Valhalla, Bock beer is not for the faint-hearted. It’s bold, rich, and full of character—a drink fit for warriors, poets, and those who embrace life’s greatest battles.

So, with every sip, honor the old gods, the fearless drinkers, and the brewers who keep tradition alive. Raise your glass high, and toast to the legends that still flow today. Skål & Sláinte!
