Warrior Queen – The Legend of Meabh

High atop Knocknarea, where the wind howls and the stones whisper, rests the cairn of Meabh, the indomitable Queen of Connacht. A warrior, a strategist, and a leader feared and revered in equal measure, Meabh was no mere ruler - she was a force of nature, a woman who bent fate to her will and led men into battle without hesitation.

The Queen Who Would Not Be Denied

Meabh’s tale is one of power, pride, and unbreakable will. She was not content to be a consort - she demanded to rule as an equal, or better. It was she who waged the great Táin Bó Cúailnge, the legendary Cattle Raid of Cooley, to claim the fabled Brown Bull and prove that no king, no warrior, and no prophecy could dictate her worth. Her ambition shook Ireland, igniting a war that would echo through the ages.

A Legacy Carved in Stone

To this day, Meabh’s presence lingers over Ireland, her resting place standing proud above The White Hag Brewery, a reminder that strength and defiance are woven into the land itself. She was a queen who commanded respect, a warrior who feared nothing, and a legend that refuses to fade.

Raise a Glass to the Warrior Queen

Like Meabh herself, this Irish Red Ale is bold and commanding. It carries an incredibly smooth malt body, layered with soft caramel and rich toffee undertones, finishing with a perfectly balanced, regal touch.

So drink deep, and toast to Meabh - the queen, the warrior, the legend. Sláinte!
