The Phantom Mórrígan – Goddess of War, Magic, and Fate
Mar 06, 2025
In the swirling mists of ancient Ireland, where myth and reality blurred, there was one deity whose presence commanded both fear and reverence - The Mórrígan. She was no gentle goddess, no bringer of peace; she was the Phantom Queen, the shapeshifter, the whisper in the storm before battle. She wove fate with her will, shifting between the forms of a raven, a wolf, or a phantom cloaked in darkness. Her power was raw, untamed, and inescapable.
The Shapeshifter of Battle
The Mórrígan was one of the triple goddesses, a trinity of power alongside Badb and Macha, but it was she who loomed over the battlefield, deciding who would fall and who would rise. Warriors claimed to see her before great battles - watching, waiting. If she appeared as a raven, perched upon a dying warrior’s shoulder, his fate was sealed. The Tuatha Dé Danann, the legendary gods of Ireland, called upon her magic in times of war. She was the storm, the chaos, and the inevitable.
The Fog of Deception
One of her greatest weapons was the fog - a thick, all-encompassing mist conjured to shroud her people in secrecy. With her magic, she cloaked the Tuatha Dé Danann, concealing their movements from enemies and ensuring victory through deception. The land itself would shift under her spell, confusing and confounding those who dared to oppose her.
A Toast to the Phantom Queen
Like the Mórrígan’s fog, our Hazy IPA is full of mystery - concealing layer upon layer of unexpected flavour and depth. Behind the mist lies a bold brew, bursting with juicy citrus, resinous dankness, and a velvety texture that lingers long after the first sip. A beer of this gravity demands respect, just as the Phantom Queen herself did.
So raise your glass to the Mórrígan - the shapeshifter, the warrior, the goddess of fate. Let the mist rise, let the magic flow, and embrace the mystery. Sláinte!
