The Black Boar of Ben Bulbin – The Beast of Legend
About five miles to the north of the town of Sligo lies a mountain called Ben Bulbin. In centuries past, this mountain was known as Ben Gullan. It was here, on this rugged and mist-covered peak, that a black wild boar once roamed - a beast unlike any other. This was no ordinary pig, but a creature transformed by the magical arts of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the ancient and powerful race who once ruled Ireland. Feared across the land, the Black Boar was a terror to all who lived in its shadow.
A Monster in the Mist
Born of magic, cursed by fate, or perhaps summoned by the gods themselves, the Black Boar prowled the wilds with an insatiable hunger. Its eyes burned like embers, its tusks gleamed sharp enough to tear through armor, and its roar echoed across the mountains. A nightmare made flesh, it struck fear into the hearts of warriors, kings, and hunters alike.
The Warrior’s Challenge
Many sought to slay the beast, believing that conquering the Black Boar would grant them eternal glory. Among them was Diarmaid, one of the greatest warriors of the Fianna. With fate guiding his hand, he was destined to face the boar atop Ben Bulbin in a battle that would echo through time. But fate is a cruel mistress, and even the bravest of heroes cannot outrun their destiny. In a clash of claw and blade, Diarmaid’s courage was tested - his fate sealed by the very beast he sought to conquer.
A Brew as Bold as the Beast
The legend of the Black Boar endures, not just in the misty heights of Ben Bulbin, but in every sip of Black Boar Imperial Stout. Dark, rich, and untamed, this brew carries the spirit of the mighty beast - layered with deep roasted malt, bold coffee, and a velvety, formidable finish.
Raise a Glass to the Beast
Like the warriors who stood before it, this beer is not for the faint of heart. It is bold, untamed, and unforgettable - just like the Black Boar itself. So take a sip, embrace the legend, and let the darkness of the stout lead you into the wild. Sláinte!
